This sweet Big Girl Room was one of the first projects I started working on when starting my Interior Design business. My best friend just happens to be the mom to this “big girl” and I was so happy when she told me she wanted to re-do her room. We started with these watercolor dots from Urban Walls and the rest just fell into place. Wall decals are a genius alternative to wallpaper. Don’t get me wrong, wallpaper is my fave but it scares some people. So wall decals are a great solution. Here’s the Mood Board I created to show my “clients” the direction I wanted to go in…

Side note – a mood board like this is how I get the design process started with all clients. It’s a great way for me to show you my vision and see if we are on the same page or not. I love creating these and sometimes create one even if I don’t have a client for it 🙂

I love the way this custom window valance turned out. It frames that large window so perfectly. My husband actually custom made it and used a coffee can to trace the scallops!

Have y’all heard of Land of Mae? She creates these adorable little dolls from scratch! You can choose every little detail from her dress print, hair style and color, to the color and style of shoes. And she does an embroidery stitch of your child’s name too! Such a cute and personal touch!

Mixing patterns in pillows is probably my favorite part of the design process. It’s so much fun and I love to find new styles and pattern mixes with each room.

When my little client walked in and saw these prints, she did a little happy dance and jumped with excitement! There’s no better feeling than the approval from the little people clients 🙂
