Bohemian Playroom

Playroom

Before I became a mom, I remember thinking that having a designated space for a “playroom” was so silly. Wasn’t that the purpose of their bedroom? Why couldn’t they just play in there? Well, that wasn’t the first time I’ve eaten my words since adding a baby. I now understand the NEED for a place to keep ALL THE THINGS. And oh my gosh are there lots of things! How can something so small require so much!? I totally get it now. Bring on the playrooms!
Designing a playroom for these two cuties was so much fun. They both have such a fun spirit. All they knew they wanted for sure was a teepee. Done! So that’s where we started. One teepee and lots of other cute details later…

My clients, Rachel and Jordan, built these cornice boards over the windows themselves! We found this darling fabric at Tonic Living and it was the perfect touch!

Another much needed item was a place for their books! And storage for the toys too, of course! These cubbies were perfect! And inexpensive – score!

This adorable little kitchen and laundry set was passed down a couple generations. We just gave it a little update with some paint and cute curtains. I love it when you can add family heirlooms to a space. Such a special touch!

These little cuties love to paint so adding something to specifically show off their beautiful work was a MUST!

Their mom is a photographer so I love the added pink camera to represent that.

Plenty of storage baskets from places like Home Goods and TJ Maxx were added to hold extra toys. Here’s hoping that will help keep things tidy and make clean up time more fun for the kiddos.

This room also doubles as a media space for the family to cuddle up and watch movies.
