Designing a room for your best friend’s daughter is a dream and also an honor! I designed Emma’s sister’s Big Girl Room also (Scalloped Big Girl Room) so she was super excited that it was her turn. She didn’t really have any input as to what she wanted, just a big comfy bed. And we definitely made that happen!
It all started with this magical wallpaper. Honestly, I was going in a completely different direction until I found this wallpaper. I just thought it was so fun and whimsy and needed to be in this room. Once that was decided, we needed something to go on the wall above the bed but not too distracting since the wall was already pretty busy. Insert this beautiful sign from Mod Wood Co and I was absolutely SOLD! This wasn’t the first time that I had worked with Mod Wood Co. Remember the sign I used in the Travel Themed Nursery? Yep, same amazing company and same amazing results! Neither one of these signs were on their site. They let me custom design them to fit perfectly into my design for these rooms. I couldn’t be happier with how they both turned out!
I’ll say that this was definitely one of my favorite spaces to design. It’s no secret that kid spaces are my favorite but designing for a kid that you know and love doesn’t hurt either. This room captures every touch of playful and fun that Emma does and I’m so happy that she loves it just as much as I do!
