When I first visited this client’s home, I’m not even real sure that they wanted to redo their dining room. But when I walked into that room and saw the potential that it had, I sent them a Design Board anyway because they needed to see what I imagined for it! And thank God they loved it because I don’t really think I would have taken no for an answer :). The sunlight that comes into this space is magical and it deserved to be highlighted!
This room already had ship lap on one wall with a built in bench across the entire wall. It was pretty but not exactly functional. So when I suggested these custom built-ins they immediately said “Yes! That’s exactly what this wall needs!”. Yay! I love it when that happens!
The first time I laid my eyes on this wallpaper I was hooked. I’m pretty sure I looked just like that emoji with the red heart eyes. Yes, that was me 100%. I made it my JOB to find a space that would work with this wallpaper. And this sunlit dining room was PERRRFECT! I am so obsessed with how it turned out and I now want to wallpaper their entire house in it!
Styling these built-ins was like therapy for me. Not to mention the two shopping carts that I got to pack full of goodies at Home Goods. That made me pretty happy too. Home Goods is my jam, y’all! I know it’s technically a discount store but I’m always so blown away at the stuff they have there that I see in other boutique shops for seriously five times the price! So I am not above Home Goods. Nope, not one bit!
This project was definitely a favorite for me. Don’t get me wrong, kid spaces are still my favorite to do but give me sunny dining rooms and Hollyhock wallpaper any day and it’ll be right up there with nurseries and playrooms. Hope y’all like it too!
