Hey there! Are y’all tired of me teasing this shoot yet? Well, here it is! Finally! To be honest, with Instagram completely turning over to full on Christmas mode as soon as November hit, I didn’t feel like this shoot had a spot on my feed anymore. So that’s why I waited until the week of Thanksgiving to share. I know I’m biased, but I think this beautiful shoot was well worth the wait!
This coastal fall shoot started out as my friend, Jessi (@justtryingrecipes), and I wanting to do a pretty Thanksgiving tablescape to be able to share during the holidays. Then I started thinking about some other talented friends that I have and wanted to make it bigger. Jessi is so creative with her dishes so I wanted to take that and put it on a larger scale. So I called my friend Tara (@taraskinnerevents) and Kim (@augustdesign). Fun fact – I use to work in the wedding industry and owned a vintage rental company. So I know some pretty talented folks in that industry around Savannah. Then we brought on Kelli (@kelliboydphotography) to be the photographer because we knew she would definitely do it justice. Oh yea, then I called my friend Lori who owns this stunning home on the water in Savannah. So viola! Our shoot came together!
Once we had the dream team together, everything just kind of fell into place after that. Oh and, we put this shoot together in four days! Which means we needed to source everything locally. We barely even had time for Amazon prime! I reached out to a local store in Richmond Hill called Ella’s. I absolutely LOVE their store and shop there for clients and myself quite often. They were nice enough to let us use a few items from their store and we honestly could not have done it without them!
All of the pumpkins were found locally. We scoured all of the grocery stores and were able to come up with all of these gorgeous fairy tale pumpkins. The blue pumpkins were painted various shades of blue. But all of the other pumpkins were found at our local grocery stores. You should have seen the group text of the four of us going to every grocery store in town and sending pictures of our shopping carts stocked full of tons of pumpkins. We definitely got some crazy looks and even crazier questions!
Once we unloaded allll of these pumpkins from our cars, we just started placing them along these gorgeous steps.
We realized that we forgot to get a wreath for the front door so Kim whipped this beauty up in a few minutes with spare dried items she had on hand. Like, whaaat!? I was so impressed!
This wouldn’t be a coastal shoot without the addition of oyster shells!
While this was going on outside, Jessi was working her magic in the kitchen. Look at this beautiful and delicious meal she made and styled! Almost too pretty to eat! Almost…
All of this gorgeous food needed a pretty table setting so we worked on that while Jessi finished the meal. Kim had the idea of using dried flowers (and even a few veggies) to create a coastal fall feel. The table belongs to the homeowner and I found the side and head chairs at Ella’s in Richmond Hill, GA. And these beautiful embroidered napkins were done by a local shop called The Horseshoe Crab.
Kim and her husband, Dale, had the great idea of painting these pumpkins to minic the landscape artwork in Lori’s home. They turned out so beautiful! Now I think every coastal home should hand landscape painted pumpkins!
We also set up a little dining area outside on the dock. Jessi served seafood sampler platters and a beautiful plate of crabs. We wanted to add to the already beautiful ambience of being on the water with these fun rattan baskets hanging over the table. And of course, more pumpkins!
We hope y’all enjoyed viewing our coastal fall shoot just as much as we enjoyed doing it! Getting together with some of your closest friends to make something beautiful is what it’s all about and I’m so proud to call these ladies my friends!
